Q: How long will it take to activate my hosting account?
A: We work on a 2 working days turn around time for the setting up of hosting space under new domain names, but it will be dependent on how quickly the domain name can be registered. Setting up of hosting space for an existing domain that needs to be transferred to All Africa Interactive's servers may take longer and turn around times will depend on the transfer process.
To ensure a constant level of service to ALL our clients, setups of new accounts, creation of database DSN's, email forwarding, mailboxes, etc is done during the following hours:
Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30
We ask clients to inform the technical team of such setup issues within the allocated setup times.

Q: How do I transfer my existing web site to All Africa for hosting purposes?
A: You need to keep a copy of your web site in order to upload it again to All Africa’s servers, once the domain has been transferred and the All Africa hosting space activated. If you want Popular Demand to download your site and upload it again onto our servers, please supply us with the username and password used to gain access to the site at your current hosting provider.
If you have an existing domain name, you need to confirm that your current Hosting provider will release the name for transfer to our servers. We will request the transfer, but the existing Owner, Administrative Contact and Technical Contact, will receive an e-mail asking them to accept the transfer of the domain. If one of these contacts denies the transfer request, the domain will not be transferred. If there is a dispute over the transfer of the domain, your All Africa Interactive representative can advise you about the method for faxing a transfer request directly to the registering body, as long as you are the registered owner of the domain name.
If the transfer requests are accepted first time around, the following turn around times for transfers apply:

.com/.net/.org: 48 -72 hours
.za.net/.za.org: 24 hours to 2 weeks

Q: Can I sub-host other sites within my All Africa hosting account?
A: Yes. Sub-hosted sites can be hosted under their own domain names, as well as under sub-domains.

Q: May I host customised scripts and/or DLL's with within my All Africa Web hosting account?
A: We do not encourage it, as it may compromise security in our shared server environment. All Africa Interactive will however consider it if the scripts are provided to us for review (a fee may apply for the reviewing of certain scripts) and All Africa Interactive is convinced that the customised script would not interfere with other activity on our servers.

Q: Is web site information safe with All Africa - how frequently are backups performed?
A: Web Site information hosted with All Africa Interactive is very safe. Full system back-ups of all hosting servers are performed once a week.

Q: How stable are your servers?
A: All of the servers are monitored 24/7/365 to ensure maximum uptime. Currently a 99.8% average monthly uptime is maintained on all servers.
